Those who are chronically online may have paused mid doomscroll to view Kendall Jenner’s Instagram story of the model-slash-tequila entrepreneur whipping up a self-entitled “sick soup” and think back to the viral clip of her cucumber-cutting prowess (or lack thereof more likely). I, however, was more intrigued by the delightful vessel simmering away on the hob.
Shared mere days after Thanksgiving, the snap showed the decadent stockpot perched atop her luxe La Cornue range cooker. Captioned “making myself a little sick soup”, the piece in question is the Courtly Check stockpot by MacKenzie-Childs in all its glossy glaze and monochrome glory, and complete with burnished bronze handles. Not pictured but made apparent once I investigated further, the pièce de résistance to only add to the intrigue of the steel and enamel cooking receptacle comes in the form of a domed lid crowned with a daffodil sprout, bringing a whimsical flourish that makes it a striking design detail in its own right.
Hand-painted checks are the MacKenzie-Childs signature. The cookware is handmade in Aurora in New York – and each piece is one of its kind. The Courtly Check collection comes in a range of colours, from Jenner’s timeless and sophisticated graphic black and design to fashion’s favourite mocha shade in line with Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2025.
Perhaps most excitingly of all for the discerning interior enthusiast, the chic line is currently included as part of Harrods’ sale, in which a huge selection of fashion, beauty and of course, homeware is 10 per cent off. This includes Burberry to Bobbi Brown, Lemaire to La Mer, and Soho Home to Smythson.
