Look Fantastic

Lookfantastic Beauty Advent Calendar

  • Best for: Thrice the festive fun
  • Worth: Over £655
  • Release date: Available now
  • Number of products: 28
  • Number of days: 25
  • What’s inside? (Highlights): Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist, Medik8 Hydra B5 Intense and Iconic London Prep Set Blur
  • The Vogue verdict: There are three advent calendars from Lookfantastic for 2025, each of which are filled with bestsellers from the retailer’s packed virtual shelves. The most value-packed, known simply as the Beauty Advent Calendar has 17 full-size and 11 deluxe-size skin, hair, make-up and fragrance goodies from big-name brands like Color Wow, Sol de Janeiro and more. There is even The White Company Seychelles Candle.
  • As for The Fragrance Advent Calendar, deluxe-size aromas from YSL, Neom, Rabanne and Givenchy will be found within, while The Grooming Advent Calendar disguises Molton Brown, ESPA, Philip Kingsley and more inside.
  • What the team say: Zee Waraich, Vogue’s social video creator, is a huge fan of the Lookfantastic selection. He says, “What’s exciting is that there is everything that you can want – perfume, skincare, make-up brushes and haircare.” He does think, however, that it is cheaper-looking compared to others, especially as the drawers bend when you open them. But he loved that “It’s weighty and there are many options per day, you can regift some.” Yasmine Hanni, executive assistant to the head of editorial content, also wanted to add this calendar to basket, but she did comment that it was one you’d “buy for yourself, but don’t gift.”

The Vogue verdict:

A treasure trove of luxury labels, the Harvey Nichols’ 2025 Beauty Advent Calendar won’t disappoint calendar connoisseurs with its selection of 20 full-sized products among the 37 stashed in each tonal pink and red drawer. What immediately caught our eye was the inclusion of Le Labo’s Eucalyptus 20 Eau de Parfum, but you can also expect goodies from Charlotte Tilbury, Augustinus Bader, Sisley Paris, NARS, La Prairie and La Mer, to name but a few. What’s more, one in every 50 advent calendars reveals an additional surprise – a £50 Harvey Nichols gift card. We like those odds.

See also the retailer’s 12 Days of Fragrance Advent Calendar 2025 with sumptuous aromas from the most coveted perfume houses in the world, including Creed, Parfums De Marly, Kilian, Ex Nihilo, Frédéric Malle and more. Honourable mention goes to the Trudon Ernesto Candle.

From Creed and Kilian to the lesser-known Xerjoff and Matière Première, this is a luxe, high-end selection of some of the most sought-after perfume houses in existence. My personal favourites include the addictive Malin + Goetz Dark Rum Perfume Oil, Escentric Molecule Molecule 01 Eau de Toilette and Frederic Malle Carnal Flower Eau de Parfum. Charlotte Tilbury’s Beauty Treasure Chest

Charlotte Tilbury

Charlotte Tilbury’s Beauty Treasure Chest

  • Best for: Charlotte devotees
  • Worth: £255
  • Release date: Available now
  • Number of products: 12
  • Number of days: 12
  • What’s inside? (Highlights): Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk, Collagen Lip Bath in Pillow Talk and Charlotte’s Magic Cream
  • The Vogue verdict:

The Charlotte Tilbury Treasure Chest is one of the first advent calendars to sell out each year. It’s so sought-after that one sold every minute in 2024. The brand has now revealed its contents, and you will find many of the hero products from the Pillowtalk or Airbrush collections inside. There are five full-sized products and seven minis that you can stash in your handbag for touch-ups on the go. You will save £80 versus buying all the products individually. Honourable mention goes to the mini K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in 90s Pink and Matte Revolution lipstick in Walk of No Shame, which are ideal for pint-sized handbags

  • What the team say:

Charlotte Tilbury’s Beauty Treasure Chest is one for the magpies. The team were immediately drawn to the glittering gold chest, despite its small size. “The calendar is so striking”, says Vogue’s group creative director, Dom Kelly. “If you’re a fan of Charlotte Tilbury, that’s the best thing someone can get you”. We also appreciated that each product was set in place so they didn’t roll around, and the reuse potential of the exterior. Associate director Milly Tritton is going to use for her makeup, but also was curious why there was nothing in the top – "at least a mirror!”.

Pros & Cons
Pros
  • Mostly minis
  • Decorative exterior
Cons
  • Less savings versus other calendars

  • Release date: TBD

This is included across the range and is responsible for minimising the look of fine lines, improving skin tone, supporting the skin barrier and boosting hydration – aka just the high-performance formulas needed to start a new year with a fresh appearance. In the advent calendar, the hero products, The Cream and The Rich Cream, are hidden within the signature blue-hued numbered boxes alongside the party prep essential Hydrogel Face Mask and Eye Patches.

For the longer countdown, you will be kitted out with a superior travel skincare routine with the selection of minis from the brand, from the Instant Eye Make Up Remover with its bi-phase formula to the deliciously soothing Velvet Cleansing Milk. The highlight is the beloved Hand and Nail Treatment Cream. There are four full-size products in this iteration: a lip balm, 30ml day cream, lip oil and the brand’s mascara. As for the smaller edit, the luscious lip oil is also in full size, while the only other is the Beauty Flash Balm, a restorative new product to fight fatigue.

The ultimate in escapist travel, the Utah-based establishment is set in the desert landscape of Canyon Point, built into red-hued rock formations. It’s a personal dream of mine to visit, but in the meantime, I will be unwrapping the brand’s advent calendar, which is inspired by the Amangiri at night. Inside the wellbeing, fragrance and skincare selection box, there are candles, incense, body, hair and more, including the collaboration between the hotel group and 111SKIN.

More beauty advent calendars:

This trio of products are included in its seasonal countdown – and that’s just the start. Among the other nine products inside are anti-ageing heroes like The Silk Serum, a gentle alternative to retinol and the pout-perfecting The Kissu Lip Mask, which is always in my handbag.

Susanne Kaufmann

Advent Calendar 2025

  • Best for: Alpine skincare
  • Worth: £645
  • Release date: Available now
  • Number of products: 25
  • Number of days: 25
  • What’s inside? (Highlights): Body Butter, Hayflower Bath Oil and Purifying Clay Mask
  • The Vogue verdict: Susanne Kaufmann is likely known best for the use of Alpine ingredients from her native Austria. The brand harnesses premium botanical ingredients from the nature surrounding her Alps HQ – with the bath oils particularly beloved among those in the know. Bath for the Senses and the St. John’s Wort Bath are two of the aforementioned found within the beauty founder’s advent calendar to hydrate and pamper during the party season and to combat winter skin dryness. But there is also a wide selection of skincare favourites too, including the Ectoin Repair Serum, which stars the buzzy ingredient beloved for its skin barrier protection and the Vitamin C Complex Serum to glow through to the new year.

The bumper selection of aromas from the luxury perfume house comes in many different forms, from personal and home fragrances to skincare and even an entry into hair. The three-tiered advent is filled with eau de parfums (Gypsy Water, La Tulipe and Bal D’Afrique included), hand cream (Blanche and La Tulipe), body wash (RONML), a hairbrush, hair perfume (Bal D’Afrique) and the brand’s sleek, silver-housed lip balm in the clear and universal Chromophobia shade.

Giorgio Armani

Armani Advent Calendar

  • Best for: Premium make-up
  • Worth: £450.20
  • Release date: Available now
  • Number of products: 24
  • Number of days: 24
  • What’s inside? (Highlights): My Way Eau De Parfum, Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer
  • The Vogue verdict: The Armani make-up collection is defined by premium quality formulas with a luxury feel, especially where the foundation is concerned. It is, of course, not possible to include the foundation itself in the brand’s advent calendar as the hues need to be universal, and so to satisfy our obsession, there is the Luminous Silk Acqua Highlighter to bring even more radiance when paired with the complexion production and the Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer to give both the aforementioned longevity. There are also mini versions of the five bestselling aromas from the My Way and Si ranges.

Elemis

ELEMIS Wonders Advent Calendar

  • Number of days: 25
  • What’s inside? (Highlights): Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, Pro-Collagen Marine Cream and Pro-Collagen Toning Mist
  • The Vogue verdict: There is a reason why Elemis’ Pro-Collagen collection forms the basis of the skincare routines of almost every beauty editor I know. It just works. The products are enriched with natural but powerful plant ingredients to support the skin and combat signs of ageing. I am a particular fan of the Cleansing Balm, and it can be found within the brand’s advent calendar in the classic, Green Fig and newer Black Cherry aromas. The Green Fig is particularly irresistible. There is also the Marine Cream inside as well as other heroes from the Pro-Collagen, Superfood and Dynamic collections.

Cowshed

12 Days of Self Care Hamper

  • Best for: Pampering
  • Worth: £271
  • Release date: Available now
  • Number of products: 12
  • Number of days: 12
  • What’s inside? (Highlights): Relax Shower Gel, Calming Pillow Mist and Active Body Lotion
  • The Vogue verdict: Within a chic, wicker hamper, you will find 12 individually-wrapped presents from the Cowshed collection. Numbered for each day, the keepsake woven exterior reveals relaxing or reviving elixirs to make your home feel like you are staying in one of the Soho House boltholes. Better yet, share the love as the silk eye mask, pillow mist, or quartet of candles are ripe for regifting.
  • What the team say: Vogue’s audience development senior manager, Ellie Davies, remarked on the messy nature of the hamper and interior packaging, but couldn’t resist the selection of goodies within, while fashion news editor Daniel Rodgers said, “I feel like the hamper is an extra treat.”
Pros & Cons
Pros
  • Sumptuous Cowshed goodies
  • Regifting potential
Cons
  • Missing December 25 gift

Bvlgari

Bvlgari Allegra Countdown Calendar

  • Best for: Fragrance layering
    Worth: £465
    Release date: Available now
    Number of products: 9
What’s inside? (Highlights): Bvlgari Allegra Fiori D’amore Eau De Parfum and Bvlgari Allegra Baciami Eau de Parfum
  • The Vogue verdict:
  • Like Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Bvlgari is scenting the period after Christmas with an advent calendar that counts down the days after December 25 until the end of the year. The fragrance house has curated the contents with its Allegra collection with aromas known for their high concentration and striking bottles. The beauty of this range is the customisability of the fragrances, and with the combination of full-sized and testers within, you can get creative with your layering to create an entirely unique signature scent.
  • What the team says: Lauren O’Callaghan, Vogue’s editorial operations manager, says, “The design of the Bvlgari Allegra Countdown Calendar is so chic. It’s also interesting that it’s Christmas to New Year, it keeps the joy going. This is my favourite advent this year”.
Pros & Cons
Pros

Cons
  • Fewer products

111Skin

111SKIN 11 Days Of Radiance Advent Calendar

  • Best for: Masking

  • Number of days: 11
  • What’s inside? (Highlights): Black Diamond Eye Masks, Repair Day Cream NACY2 and Repair Serum NACY2
  • The Vogue verdict: The 111SKIN sheet masks count Victoria Beckham, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and Margot Robbie as just a handful of its extensive celebrity fan base who have posed with the masks in their GRWM Instagrams. The skincare label helmed by plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr Yannis Alexandrides stars a signature anti-ageing NAC Y2 complex that is recurring throughout the collection, like in the first ever product, the Repair Serum – and, of course, that is included too.

As you can see in the video, the calendar flips out; it’s unlike any other calendar on the market. “It’s also nice to have a mirror so you can test the products immediately”. She did remark, however, that it’s difficult to do an advent from a brand like MAC on account of the colourways being so personal, so for this reason, she believed some of the contents were a bit random. But commented “there are big hitters like the Strobe Cream and false eyelashes” and concluded “If you’re a MAC fan, this is great”.

How I test and rate the best beauty advent calendars 2025

I am Vogue’s Senior Beauty Shopping Writer and since Liberty unveiled the very first beauty advent calendar back in 2014, I have paid close attention to every single skincare, fragrance, haircare and multi-category advent calendar that has appeared on the market – and so I am well placed to determine which are worth their spot under your tree.

In my selection process, I look at everything from the quality of the contents to the quantity of full-sized products to sustainability. In terms of the latter, I take note of whether they are refillable or at least recyclable. And importantly, I consider whether they offer value for money. Are the value prices authentically based on the sizes of the formulas within, or are they determined based on whether the product was full-sized?
